| Remarks |
I wrote this last Saturday before the football game...the sax section read it down during the fourth quarter of the game, no problem. I wrote it for the saxophones of the SMS Pride Band. It's scored for a REALLY large sax section. The part numbers are slightly misleading since Alto 1 and 2 are actually divisi parts, creating the need for enough altos to cover essentially FOUR parts instead of two. Tenor Saxes must be divided in half as well. Suggestions are welcomed.
Background on this type of arrangement: Southwest Missouri State University's band has a long-standing tradition of various sections (usually tpt, trb & sx) playing short pep numbers without the full band. Over the years, the saxes have played the ESPN theme, the superman fanfare and others...this year, I decided to incorporate some video game music. This is the first of a series of video game charts I hope to generate for my section. |
