This song is basically punk rock, but with a nifty layout. Punk seems to come out sounding pretty good, and this one is different enough to warrant arranging.

2nd note: Yeah, I'd like to do this myself, but
a) I've never arranged anything before.
b) I suppose it would be expedient to get arranging software, but I don't know what my options are for GNU/Linux.

Options:
a) Run Finale/Overture/Musicator/etc on wine
b) Run Windows

Aren't monopolies great?

After running around www.sourceforge.net, I found something that lets you think you're coding in java while you're actually writing music! It's called jMusic. It looks really cool, but you could get serious air skating off the learning curve (no java experience here).

Oh, one more comment, since I'm busy and lazy, are these arranging software thingamjigies -free-? The answer to this will moderately affect whether or not I ever compose anything.

ahh I started.
Using "NoteWorthy", which was pointed out to me be a former roommate. I'll have to circumvent some feature-limiting since it's a trial version (yay for multiple OS's, allowing for the screwing-with of files), but I've at least gotten somewhere.
