Hey folks, I'm a high school student from Minnesota - we're looking to arrange a few new tunes for basketball season this year. Layla was our first idea. This is the common midi file for it (not ours). |

The main issue as I see it is splitting parts in the chorus - the base figure that starts on the & of 3, the guitar part that comes over it, and the actual chorus lyrics. I am thinking tuba/trombone, trumpet, and sax/horn/trumpet2 respectively.
The group of players I'm working with, although talented, has never done any arranging before, so it may be a slow process.

You know this would make a great arrangement-- I just listened to the "stock" midi file you've supplied and there's so much you could do with this and really make a cool song out of it, and entertaining for the players as well as the audience (Which is always important with the typical low attention span in a pep band =)
