Life Story (in progress)
I was born on the morning of November 3rd, 1977 in San Jose, CA. In 1980 I moved to Gilroy, CA where
I eventually attended school at Rucker Elementary, South Valley Jr. High School, and Gilroy High School.
My main gig in high school was the band. All of my friends were from the band, including the one or two
that I still keep in contact with to this day. Upon graudating from Gilroy High School I moved to Davis, CA
and attended the
University of California at Davis
in pursuit of a degree in Computer Science and Engineering.
During my time at UC Davis I spent most of my time, once again, with the band. They are a great group of
people and I'm glad to have made so many friends and to have had so many wonderful experiences with these
people during my time there. While at UCD I directed the
marching band during 2000.
After 5 years of college that went by all too quickly, I graduated in June of
2001 and moved to Sunnyvale, CA where I currently reside. I pay my rent and
car payments by working at
Cisco Systems
in their Test Engineering group. Shortly before I graduated from UCD I started taking flying lessons
at University Airport
in Davis. After moving to Sunnyvale I continued my training at Reid-Hillview Airport
in San Jose and completed my private pilot training when I passed my
checkride on October 4th, 2001.
During 2002 I devoted my weekends to practicing and performing with the San Francisco Renegades
Drum and Bugle Corps. It was a great experience and I learned how to play a new horn too. Here are some pictures
from our finals trip.
Over the past year I've done a lot of flying around California and even a trip up to
Grant's Pass, OR.
I recently got CCNA
certified and although it's not exactly the type of work I'm doing right now, I hope I'll be able to apply it in my
work soon.
Since the Spring of 2003 I have been involved with several South Bay theater groups both as a musician and more
recently as Musical Director. I also played trombone with the DeAnza Jr. College Daddios Jazz Band during 2003 and 2004.
Since 2003 I have been playing trombone for the Blow Kings. I also still write
the occasional arrangement for the UCD marching band.
The Present
Presently I reside in
Sunnyvale, CA where I
work for Cisco Systems.
I am still involved with West Valley Light Opera and
Saratoga Drama Group playing in and conducting the orchestra.
Since 2003 I've made lots of friends through my involvement with the theater community. It's nice to be
back after a hiatus from theater while I was in college. For fun I still go flying once or twice a month
out of Tradewinds Aviation at
Reid-Hillview Airport in Southeast San Jose. And... of course, I still pick up the occasional Project
when I get bored.
