Arranging FAQ How do I create PS and PDF files of my score? In order to create PS or PDF files of your score, it is assumed that you are able to print a score from your notation software. If you're able to do this, creating a PS (PostScript) file is easy.
All you need to do is install a PostScript printer driver such as the HP LaserJet 5P/5MP and check the "print to file" box when you print your score. You should then be prompted for a filename to save the file as. It's easiest to just save the file on your desktop (be sure to give it a .ps extension!).
Creating PDF files from PS files is a little more complicated, and it involves installing a program called GhostScript and it's GUI companion, GSView.
At sonicspike.net, you'll only ever need to know how to create PostScript files since if you upload a *.ps file for your revision it will be automatically converted to PDF by the server. How do I get answers to questions that aren't answered in this FAQ? Send an email to dvsing@sonicspike.net with your question and it will be added to this FAQ. Why doesn't my download counter go up when I download my own files? The download counter is intended to be a gauge of popularity. Because of this, downloads by the file owner are not counted.
